11-12/08/2021: Drilling the first foundation points

12/08/2021: 15 anchor brackets drilled and set, 15 to go!
11/08/2021: Each of the points we had marked were drilled, filled with quick-setting cement poxy and then installed with an anchor bracket. Each tube of cement poxy sets within 10 minutes, so we had to be quick on our feet!
11/08/2021: One of the final drill points, ready for filling.
11/08/2021: Our main limitation was the battery life on the rock drill. We had only brought two batteries with us, and managed to half-charge one of them from our power bank. After 15 holes drilled, we had to admit defeat though and move on to other tasks.
12/08/2021: After 15 holes drilled, we ran out of juice so turned our attention to cutting the posts that will be installed in each anchor bracket. Using the elevation numbers from our survey, we could cut the posts to approximately the right length using our handsaw. We will refine the length of these posts later when it comes to installing the beams.
12/08/2021: The dog helped at this point. She is a handy weight to help secure the posts for cutting!
12/08/2021: So far, we have cut 8 posts so we have 22 more to cut. We have labelled each one as a ‘rough cut’, which will be refined later on.
