02/07/2021: The beams on a small “jolle” boat. We were going to sail them over in our own boat, but decided last minute to take up a spontaneous offer to hire another boat02/07/2021: 15 beams were transported across the fjord. All are 97 x 97mm, but with two different lengths – 12 x 480cm and 3 x 540cm
02/07/2021: Ferrying our beams into shore via rubber boat, with our friend Johanne. Dry suit was needed to ensure that the beams did not touch the water!02/07/2021: Our first night sleeping in the bay, with our huge Nordisk lavvu tent03/07/2021: Carrying our beams up the hill to our cabin spot, with help from Johanne and Vivi
03/07/2021: First attempt of our string lines done, using our beams for assistance with the placements03/07/2021: First version of our cabin orientation and placement. This will not be the final orientation, as we got caught up in making sure that each drill point did not lie on weak/cracked bedrock; so the orientation is currently angled too far in looking at the bay, rather than up the fjord04/07/2021: A late night/early morning spent tucking our beams in under their tarp. The weather forecast abruptly changed, making the next day look tricky for sailing, so we sailed home at 3am instead (shortly after this photo was taken)
